A relationship that grew over time

The people behind Stoneridge

Our story began with a Belgian Malinois on a neighbor’s farm. Watching that dog move between flock and family left a lasting impression. Years later, when my partner and I had room for the commitment of living with a Malinois, we returned to that farm’s lineage and learned from breeders who emphasized temperament before training.

We began with two dogs and spent the following years learning through everyday life together. Friends asked about our dogs, trainers asked about breeding decisions, and families began asking about puppies. Those conversations helped shape the purpose of Stoneridge.

Our name comes from the granite outcropping behind our property, where our foundation dogs trained. The experience of living with our dogs continues to guide our approach: know the individual, be direct about the commitment, and take placement seriously. Read our story to learn more about the people and experiences behind the photographs.

Room to know each puppy

What home raising means here

Our puppies grow up in our home, with daily handling and introductions to household experiences. Their surroundings include people, children, livestock, travel, and different handlers. We observe how each puppy responds rather than assigning the same description to an entire litter.

Individual observation

Keeping limited litters gives us time to notice individual differences. One puppy may approach something new readily; another may pause and need encouragement. These observations give us something specific to discuss with you. Ask what we are seeing now and how those experiences relate to your household and plans.

Care records

Care also involves information you can take home. Our care folder and calendar record feeding, vaccinations, deworming, veterinary visits, and procedures. We review available paperwork and individual needs with you so you have a starting point for continuing care and talking with your veterinarian.

Questions are welcome

We welcome questions about both the puppy and the routines behind their care. Understanding those details helps make your first conversation more practical and your preparations more informed.

Plan for life beyond puppyhood

Is a Belgian Malinois right for your household?

Before choosing a puppy, consider the daily involvement you want with a dog. Our experience with Belgian Malinois has taught us to ask about ordinary routines, consistency, and expectations. A clear picture of your household is more useful than an ambitious list of activities you might try someday.

Think through a normal weekday. Who will supervise your puppy, organize care, and make time for training? How will responsibilities be shared when work, travel, or other commitments change the routine? Where can the puppy rest, and how will you manage introductions to children or resident animals?

Bring your experience as well as your uncertainties to the conversation. If this would be your first Malinois, tell us what you have learned and what you still want to understand. If you have lived with the breed before, explain what you hope for in your next dog.

We will discuss concerns directly. Our aim is to understand the home you can offer and help you consider the commitment beyond puppyhood.

Read the written terms

Health information you can read and discuss

Ask us about the available health clearances, individual records, and care information for the puppy you are considering. Before departure, our veterinarian examines the puppy and assesses fitness for the planned journey. The care folder and calendar accompany your puppy, providing information to share with your own veterinarian.

Our written Health Guarantee explains its coverage, eligibility requirements, separate benefits, exclusions, and reporting responsibilities. It includes congenital and inherited coverage through the second birthday, subject to the full terms. A short introduction cannot explain every condition or replace the policy itself.

Arrange the initial veterinary examination within three days of arrival. Read the complete guarantee before homecoming so you understand the records, deadlines, and steps that apply. If something is unclear, ask us before making arrangements. Keep the policy and your puppy’s care information together for reference.

Preparing for homecoming

Planning the journey home

Our published delivery policy offers home delivery throughout the contiguous United States for a flat $300 transportation fee, separate from the puppy’s purchase price. The fee includes transportation, the travel crate, and carrier charges. We confirm the address, recipient, schedule, and payment arrangements before booking.

Puppies leave no earlier than eight weeks and must also be fully weaned, developmentally ready, and cleared for the journey. Timing depends on the puppy, route, weather, and provider availability. Read the complete Shipping & Delivery page for preparation, handover, schedule changes, and your responsibilities.

Before arrival, organize a place for the puppy’s records and review the care guidance provided. Transition food accompanies the puppy, with a mother-scented blanket where suitable. Bring any questions about the arrangements into your conversation with us.

A clear path forward

From your first inquiry to homecoming

01

Introduce your household

Begin with a puppy profile or the inquiry form. Tell us about your experience, daily schedule, preferred timing, and plans for care and training. Include the questions that matter to everyone involved in welcoming the puppy.

02

Discuss the individual puppy

Ask about current observations and available records. We share health clearances, pedigree information, and temperament observations, and we want to understand your expectations. Take time to review the written policies alongside that conversation.

03

Prepare for arrival

Confirm the arrangements and organize the information you will need at home. Plan the first veterinary appointment and decide who will handle the puppy’s care during the transition. Our relationship with puppy owners continues as their dogs mature and new questions arise. You are welcome to ask about records, care information, and the details you want to understand.

Good questions, clear information

Questions before you choose

Visit the FAQ
What should I ask about a particular puppy?

Ask about current availability, daily experiences, individual observations, and the records available for review. Explain your household and plans so the conversation can address the things that matter to you. Begin from the puppy’s profile to include their name in your inquiry.

What paperwork comes home with the puppy?

The care folder and calendar record feeding, vaccinations, deworming, veterinary visits, and procedures. Registration, pedigree, microchip information, and individual care needs are included as available and reviewed with you. Consult the full policies for the arrangements that apply.

Where can I find help preparing?

Our puppy guides cover home preparation, the first week, grooming, early training, and questions to take to your veterinarian. Use them to organize your questions alongside the individual care information you receive. Read the complete health and delivery policies before finalizing homecoming plans.

Can I ask questions after homecoming?

Yes. We maintain relationships with puppy owners as their dogs mature and new questions emerge. Keep the puppy’s records accessible and contact us with the information or questions you would like to discuss.

Keep preparing

Practical reading for the days ahead

Preparation becomes easier when you separate the questions you can answer at home from those you need to discuss with us or your veterinarian. Start by agreeing who will manage daily care and where important records will be kept. Make a list of supplies to discuss, the household arrangements that need attention, and the questions you want answered before arrival.

Our home-preparation guide helps you organize that first list. The first-week guide offers a way to think through responsibilities and the transition into your household. Other guides help you prepare questions about grooming, early training, and veterinary care. They are starting points for planning; the individual puppy’s records and professional guidance should inform the decisions you make.

You do not need to have every answer before contacting us. A thoughtful list of questions is a useful beginning.

Choose your next step

Let’s begin with a conversation

Explore the puppies, read our story, and take time with the information that matters to your household. When you are ready, tell us about the life you hope to share with a Belgian Malinois. We welcome thoughtful questions and a clear conversation about the individual puppy, your expectations, and the preparation ahead.
