Preparing for a Belgian Malinois Puppy: Your Home
Prepare for the routine you will share with your puppy before you prepare for the arrival photograph. A written household plan can reveal gaps while there is still time to work through them.
Start with an ordinary weekday
Write down who will be home in the morning, during the workday, and in the evening. Assign feeding, supervision, cleaning, and appointments to named people. If you need help during a long absence, organize that support before choosing a homecoming date.
A Malinois needs an engaged owner. The AKC describes a breed with substantial exercise and mental-stimulation needs. Discuss how you will build training and activity into everyday life, and ask a qualified professional how to adapt those plans to a growing puppy.
Walk through the home at puppy height
Check reachable cables, loose objects, cleaning products, and doors that may be left open. Decide which rooms the puppy can use and where you will keep supplies. Set up a resting area that household members can leave undisturbed. Check gates and boundaries before relying on them.
Agree on how you will supervise time around children and other animals. Put the plan in plain language so everyone follows the same expectations. Keep introductions separate from the excitement of visitors arriving to meet the puppy.
Prepare information as well as equipment
Make space for the care folder and calendar that come with a Stoneridge puppy. Keep the current feeding guidance accessible and organize the veterinarian’s contact details. Our delivery policy asks you to arrange the first examination within three days of arrival.
Confirm the handover recipient, address, schedule, and contact details with us. Read the complete delivery policy before making travel assumptions. Prepare fresh water, the puppy’s current food, and a calm arrival area.
Bring your unresolved questions
You do not need a perfect answer to every question before contacting us. Describe your actual routine, previous dog experience, and concerns. Ask about the puppy’s current observations and care needs so you can make a plan around the individual puppy.
